1022 – Named and Anonymous Voting Modes in ActivInspire
ActivInspire enables you to display the voters’ names in three different ways, demonstrated here with ActiVotes.
During registration, ActiVote and ActivExpression devices can be renamed or set to retain default names. The device names will be displayed in the Voting Browser and during a voting session.
There is more information on naming devices in the Help files. Hit F1 on your Windows keyboard, or click the Help menu and select Contents. Search for Registering devices.
It is possible to assign names to the devices from a class list or User Database, so that student names correspond to the ActiVotes or ActivExpressions during a voting session.
NB: If you have not already created a class, search the Help files for Assigning Students to Devices.
Click Assign students to devices to begin.
Choose a class to display your students’ names, and then click Assign Devices.
Students should enter the unique PIN code for their device as shown.
Once the student’s name has been assigned to the device, the line will turn green.
Click Finish to close the window.
The students’ names will now be displayed in the Voting Browser and during a voting session.
Click Toggle anonymous voting when you would prefer students to remain anonymous.
Instead of student or device names, this option will randomly assign a number to each student.
This number does not relate to the order in which the devices were registered.
Disable Anonymous Mode by clicking the same icon.
The numbers will be displayed in the Voting Browser and during a voting session.
