Setting variable commands

The following outlines the hexadecimal RS232 command structure, and how to set variable levels. We will set the volume to 50% in the example below.

Command structure :

123456
Start Code
This is the start of the RS232 command.
Function Code
This tells the ActivPanel what function to carry out.
Device Code
This tells the ActivPanel which PCA to send the command to.
Function Data
This is the value of the command in hexadecimal format:
25% = 19, 50% = 32,
75% = 4B and 100% = 64
Check Sum
This is the value of the sum of codes 1, 2, 3 and 4 in hexadecimal format.
Stop Code
This is the end of the RS232 command.

Set Volume Command (Volume set to zero) :

123456
F60C0100036F

Set Volume Command to 50% by entering the hexadecimal code in Function Data (4). Check Sum (5) will need to be recalculated since the Function Data (4) hexadecimal value changed.

123456
F60C0132**6F

F6 + 0C + 01 + 32 = 135. Take the last two digits (35) to complete the Check Sum. The RS232 code below will set the volume to 50%.

123456
F60C0132356F
