You may receive a message from your antivirus software claiming that one or more Promethean files are infected with a virus. Although the antivirus software is informing you of this, it may actually not be infected, and be the case that one of the Promethean files has found its way onto a list that the antivirus manufacturers believe to be a harmful item.

Since the release of ActivInspire 1.3, and ActivDriver 5.4.6, Promethean's software and driver packages have been digitally verified by Microsoft. This information is used by antivirus packages to determine whether or not a file publisher can be trusted.

If you receive a message from your antivirus software, it is recommended that you download and install the latest versions of ActivInspire and ActivDriver from our Support site.

Once you have installed the latest versions, restart your computer, and run another antivirus scan on the Promethean files.

The antivirus software will then see that the software packages are digitally verified, and check to see if there are any harmful viruses attached to the files.
