Although Promethean offers several different types of ActivBoard, the process for shutting them down is the same.
Before continuing please note that if you have an ActivBoard 100, ActivBoard 300 Standard or an ActivBoard Touch, simply removing the USB cable connected to your computer will be enough to switch off the power. This is because these ActivBoards are USB-powered only.
For all other ActivBoards, please see the rest of this article.
NB: It is important that you follow the steps provided as failure to do so could result in damage to your projector.
The ActivBoard will be turned off at the mains power in the classroom. Therefore, we need to make sure to power down any other devices which may be drawing power from the main supply.
Should you have any non-Promethean hardware sharing a main connection, please consult the person responsible for the equipment prior to the following steps.
Steps to ensure a safe ActivBoard shutdown:
- Safely power down any non-Promethean products which draw their power from the main connection.
- Using your projector remote control, power down the projector.
- Upon pressing the power button, your projector will enter a shutdown sequence and the power LED will flash. The projector has only been successfully powered down once it displays a static power LED and the fans have stopped.
- Once the projector has entered the shutdown state, then you are safe to turn off power at the mains.
