Any device or lighting mechanism that outputs an infrared (IR) signal can affect the performance of the IR sensor on your Promethean hardware. Examples of these are IR door lock mechanisms, IR scanners, remote controls, fluorescent lighting and direct sunlight.
IR devices emit at slightly different frequencies, which means the effects on IR sensors can vary.
If you suspect the performance of your Promethean hardware is being affected by external IR signals, we recommend that you turn off all other IR devices in the room. Switch them back on one by one until you discover which is causing the problem.
Consider repositioning the IR device or the Promethean device, so that the IR output is no longer facing your Promethean hardware.
If you cannot move or reposition the IR device, contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
If the lighting in the room is causing the performance issue, seek the advice of a qualified electrician.
