Product Replacement Options
Current Promethean customers who do not wish to replace their ActivConnect G may continue to use the device.
Promethean customers who wish to add an Android computing device should evaluate the ActivConnect OPS-G as a replacement alternative. The ActivConnect OPS-G features an identical user experience, cable-less installation and additional features, such as the pre-installed HDMI-In app that allows for one-click source switching and use of Promethean Classroom Essential apps on a connected source. Promethean customers who use the OPS slot in the ActivPanel for running a Windows or Linux operating environment and want access to additional apps should evaluate the Promethean Chromebox as a replacement alternative to the ActivConnect G. The Promethean Chromebox is Google certified and provides access to thousands of educational apps from the Google Play Store. Information on the Promethean Chromebox can be found here.
Promethean will continue to offer support subject to Promethean’s Terms & Conditions for support and the guidelines outlined per the End-of-Life policy. Per the End-of-Life policy, any software updates on the device including bug fixes will be subject to technical feasibility and resource availability.
